Contributor's comments: Sprigs is used in Adelaide; stops and tags are from Vic and Qld, but I cannot remember which is which!
Contributor's comments: Sprigs are used in WA. Not heard stops or tags before.
Contributor's comments: In country NSW the sprigs were the studdy metal buttons attached to football boots to give purchase in muddy ground. They may have changed from metal to plastic but they are still sprigs to me.
