windies

This apparently is an Adelaide Hills area term for winding roads in the Hills: "I'm going down (or around) the windies" means "going down to Adelaide" and up the windies means heading for the Hills from Adelaide.

Contributor's comments: I'm from Adelaide, and refer to them as "windy roads" as per the Beatles song "The long and winding road". Friends from Victoria refer to them as "twisties".
