Contributor's comments: I understood the "Ekka" referred to the Exhibition ground ("ek (sibishun)), much in the way Woolloongabba is the "Gabba".

Contributor's comments: This term can be used to mean both the premises where the show occurs (ie the "ekka grounds") or the show itself (the Ekka).
