Contributor's comments: Often heard in southern QLD to refer to people from New South Wales.
Contributor's comments: Moved to Brisbane from Sydney 15 years ago, and still get called a cockroach, particularly around State of Origin season.
Contributor's comments: Yes quite common throughout Brisbane and NQ and FNQ. Not so much west Qld though. The further up you go the more they call you a mexican instead of cockroach. But I'm a proud cockroach especially during state of origin.
