When you played back yard cricket with only one batsman, if he ran a single to the bowlers end but can't run back to the batters end without being run out, the batsman would call "Wicket" or "Wicket Leave" before he leaves the crease. This allows him to walk back to the batting end without being run out. He just scores the single run to the bowlers end
