Contributor's comments: Bloke of/Girl of has been used extensively by a lot of the older residents of Parkes, N.S.W. for at least the last 50 years.

Contributor's comments: This phrase I've found to be limited to mining areas, particularly those to which miners from north England have immigrated. Like Maitland, NSW, Cessnock, Broken Hill. I assume it is English in origin.

Contributor's comments: "girl of Jones" = the Jones' girl/daughter: "He married the girl of Jones, who lived next-door to the butcher's."
