The city's name. Melbournians seem to shift the 'e' in the name into an 'a'. I have heard this constantly. I have live in Melbourne for 20 years, originally from South Australia, my wife is native born Victorian, we have discussed this several times and she can't hear the change. But I hear it all the time from native born Vics. And it is not because I live in Sunshine, my wife is from Shepparton, I have heard Melbourne born people say it.
