Contributor's comments: We use this one in Coffs Harbour. The council workers who direct traffic around roadworks are generally lollypop men.

Contributor's comments: Common usage here in SE Qld, in spite of the official push for (I think) "crossing supervisor".

Contributor's comments: I first heard "Lollipop Lady" while living in London in the early 1970s. Much later, when volunteers took up similar duties in Sydney, the term was applied to them.
