whoopie

Work vehicles at a mining operation. (There vehicles tend to get flogged by many different users and are not always treated with the same respect with which a user may treat their own car): We took the whoopie and checked the track along the conveyor belt.

Contributor's comments: Related to me as used to describe work utes at Moomba, SA. "As you go over the top of a hill/hump/sand dune, the ute gets airborne and you go 'Whoopie' ". Has also been extended in usage where those workers migrate to other jobs in different regions. Same as Whoopy.
