hipstick
A game played by a schoolyard - full of kids. Fifty or more. One kid was nominated 'hipstick' who had to touch another player. That player had to catch and hold another until 'hip' arrived to 'tag' him or her. That player then had to help hold other kids until tagged. The last kid remaining untagged by 'hip' was the winner but often got mobbed and held as a sort of finalisation of the game. Played at Nedlands Primary School, Perth, WA in the 1950's: Who wants to play 'hip'?
