Contributor's comments: Leavers is very much a WA term, as opposed to the Eastern Staters' 'schoolies'. Although I remember when I went to schoolies at Rotto in 2001 the event organisers from over east kept calling it 'schoolies' and it sounded very weird. Also heard it called that on the national news.
