wog castle

a large Italianate mansion, often red-brick with columns and large expanses of concrete instead of lawn. Used in West Ryde in the 1970s. Also, wog mansion.

Contributor's comments: The residents of my inner-city street lament the presence of the Wog Mansions in the area.

Contributor's comments: I haven't heard this term used, but have heard the term "Effie's Palace" in reference to the same meaning.

Contributor's comments: I'm told the term "wog chariot" was also used fairly widely in the 1970s to describe Valiants and other models popular with Italian Australians at the time. Still heard occasionally, now usually in reference to a WRX or other sports car popular with Lebanese youths.
