wees and kees

When I was a child on the North west coast of Tasmania, the terms 'wees' and 'kees' were used respectively for the activities of urination and defaecation when addressing the young and semi-toilet trained! The origin of 'wees' is fairly obvious, but I have never been able to work out an origin for 'kees': (To a young child) Do you need to do wees or kees?

Contributor's comments: Once the form of elimination has been identified, that word is often repeated as in wee wee for urination or 'kee kee' for defecation.

Contributor's comments: These expressions were used by my mother (and I think her sister) when I was young. They grew up in the New England and North Coast areas.
