pee-the-bed

The common dandelion. It was said that whoever picked dandelions would wet the bed that night.

Editor's comments: In 16th century English dandelions were called 'pissabeds' (from 'piss' and 'abed' = in bed). The plant has diuretic properties, a fact obviously well-known some centuries ago. Note also that 16th century French had the synonymous 'pissenlit'.
