In SA seems to be "cut the grass", but in Victoria we "mow the lawn": I will have to mow the lawn on Saturday, but you'll have to cut the grass.

Contributor's comments: In Perth we definitely mow the lawn - cutting the grass sounds American.

Contributor's comments: Actually in as I grew up in Brisbane to "cut someones grass " was to play up with his wife...whereas to mow the lawn was just that.

Contributor's comments: In Queensland it is definately mow the lawn or just mow - Cutting someones grass refers to chatting up a girl or guy who already has a partner: I think Joe's cutting your grass mate...
