Contributor's comments: Iced (usually pink) bun (from a cake shop). Usually family sized. Different to a finger bun. Used in Adelaide: "I bought a sandwich and a yeast to eat at lunchtime."
Contributor's comments: When I moved from Canberra to Adelaide in 1980 I was immediately overwhelmed by the variety of different names for cakes in Adelaide - kitchener buns, berliners, chocolate walnut buns, london buns etc etc. Not only were there these specialised names, but it seemed as though there was a whole range of cakes available here which just didn't exist in Canberra, where there were donuts and finger buns only.
